France Exposome Research: first steps

The partners of the France Exposome Research Infrastructure (Inserm, Oniris Nantes, EHESP -School of Advanced Studies in Public Health, University of Rennes 1, University of Paris Cité, INRAE and Ineris - National Institute for the Industrial Environment and Risks) met for the first time on July 7 to discuss the next steps of the project, which was included in the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures 2021 by the French Ministry of Higher Education in October 2021.

The scope of the project is the decryption of the human chemical exposome, to better understand the associations existing between exposures to factors of chemical origin and health events related to chronic diseases, malformations, behavioral disorders or aging.

This new national infrastructure for research aims to collect useful information for characterizing the chemical exposure of populations in support of national and European public policies.

All the partners will provide complementary expertise in toxicology, data interpretation and modelling. The project will offer a scientific, methodological and technical service for research in the field of public health in Europe. National agencies, such as Santé publique France (ANSES), and other institutes will also be able to rely on France Exposome to develop their biomonitoring and prevention programs.
