FlashWebinar — Animal cell culture-derived food: How will the EU guarantee its safety?

This free webinar was inspired by recent events in Italy, where a significant demonstration led by Coldiretti, the Italian farmers’ association, took place outside the headquarters of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), with over 20,000 participants expressing -radically- their opposition to cultured meat. With slogans such as "Food from the countryside, not from laboratories", the protesters demanded that EFSA apply the same stringent testing standards used for drug approvals to cultured meat products.    

This engaging webinar featured interviews with leading experts in the field, followed by a Q&A session. The goal of this onlline event was to outline which types of food safety risks should be considered and how the Public Health Authorities, in Europe and the rest of the world, are going to assess and manage them.
